CNC Programmer – All Shifts

General Duties:
The CNC Programmer reports to the VP of Business Development and is involved with Programming/designing, developing CNC programs, configure tools and translate design specifications into 3D models using Solidworks in the Rochester, NH facility.

Duties:

  • Translate design requirements and specifications into 3D models using Solidworks
  • Interact with customers and company staff during product design to ensure products meet customer and company design and manufacturability goals
  • Develop CNC Programs for milling operations using Solidworks models and MasterCam
  • Configure tools and ensure efficient production
  • Occasionally set-up and operate CNC equipment to prove out programs and machining concepts
  • Analyze drawings, computer models and design data to correctly calculate part dimensions for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, feed rates and efficient tool path development
  • Communicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality
  • Troubleshoot CNC machines
  • Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. Make mechanical/program adjustments to ensure that parts are meeting productivity and quality requirements
  • Adhere to company safety requirements
  • Comply with company ISO/Quality Management System requirements

Experience and Requirements:

  • Experience with composite materials/plastics a plus
  • Background in fixtures and Designing is a strong plus
  • Strong CNC programming skills is required
  • SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD experience (Solidworks Mill package a plus)
  • Mastercam/Solidworks interface (3D, 4th & 5th axis capability a plus)
  • Programming Siemens 840DE Controller or similar
  • Familiar with manufacturing process analysis and development
  • Familiar with the use of micrometers, snap gauges or other tools for dimensional evaluation
  • Knowledge in assembly, machining, ability to read and understand drawings, quality control and safety
  • Effective verbal, written, and mathematical skills are required
  • Must be able to consistently lift 25 lbs. from the floor or table position to chest high using proper lifting technique
  • Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts
  • Strong math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide
  • Must be able to read, evaluate and respond to product specifications, blueprints and drawings, and perform normal math calculations easily
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with a focus on Excel
